Cross-interactions between Norepinephrine, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Human Osteoblast Cells in Culture Conditions

چکیده

Objective: The role of norepinephrine (NE) on growth, adhesion and invasion methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) ATTC 43300 was examined in human osteoblast (HOB) cells. effects NE and/or MRSA the viability cell death pathways HOB cells were also investigated. Furthermore, alterations bacterial response to oxidative stress (H2O2) analyzed presence/ absence NE. Materials Methods: Bacterial growth detected spectrophotometrically. colony counting method for adhesion-invasion. alteration determined by methyl thiazolyl diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. microscopically using acridine orange-ethidium dual staining dichlorofluorescein-diacetate (DCF-DA) dye. H2O2 investigated agar dilution. Results: bacterium not affected presence decreased (p<0.0001) while high-level induced (p=0.013). reduced (p<0.001). co-existence caused necrosis more than apoptosis (p<0.05). did alter stress. Conclusion: Norepinephrine has different biological properties both

Comparison of Biofilm Formation between Methicillin-Resistant and Methicillin-Susceptible Isolates of Staphylococcus aureus

Background: The aim of this study was to compare the biofilm formation and the prevalence of biofilm-associated genes between the isolates of methicillin-resistant (MRSA) and methicillin-susceptible (MSSA) Staphylococcus aureus. Methods: In total, 209 S. aureus isolates were collected. The antibiotic susceptibility test was conducted using nine antibiotics according to the guidelines of Clinica...

Transmission of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus between human and hamster.

Transmission of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) between humans and animals is increasingly recognized. We newly document that the transmission of MRSA between human and hamster is possible.

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in human milk.

We collected and analyzed 500 samples of human milk, from five Brazilian cities (100 from each) to detect methicillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) producing enterotoxins. We found 57 strains of MRSA, and the mecA gene, responsible for resistance, was detected in all of them using a specific molecular probe. We examined 40 strains for the presence of four enterotoxins, after...

Prevalence of Vancomycin Resistance in Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus

Background & Aims: Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common pathogens in nosocomial infections. Vancomycin is the most important therapeutic drug of choice for treatment of infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. Therefore, vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) or vancomycin-intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (VISA) strains are warning...

Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Etiology Staphylococcus aureus is a Gram positive, coagulase positive coccus in the family Staphylococcaceae. Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) strains are resistant to methicillin and essentially all other beta-lactam antibiotics. MRSA isolates are genetically heterogeneous. 1 Some strains, which are called epidemic strains; are more prevalent and can spread within or between hospitals an...
